Rio Grande Regional Hospitalis currently looking for a* *_Registered Nurse Adult ICU- Special Care Unit _


Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the Cardiovascular Service Line. · Use therapeutic communication in daily practice. · Maintain a safe and therapeutic Intensive Care environment. · Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual ICU patients. · Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process. · Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care. · Promote an ICU environment that treats patients and families with dignity, respect and appreciation of their lifestyle, religion and culture. · Maintain high quality, age specific care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as assigned. · Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver. · Participate in Cardiovascular Department specific initiatives and process improvement. · Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistants, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses, and / or nurse interns. Graduate Nurses or Registered Nurse with little or no Critical Care experience must complete the RGRH Critical Care Internship program and associated competencies. 2. Requirement may be waived upon the discretion of the manager, examples including but not limited to: · Demonstrated proficient in all initial competencies · Less than one year since graduation from school of nursing Employment coincides with RGRH ICU internship program__


· Graduate of an accreditedSchoolofProfessional Nursing · Current license by the Board of Nurse Examiners State of Texas. · Preferred minimum of one-year experience in Critical Care in an acute care hospital within the last three years preferred. Experience with high acuity ICU medical / surgical patients is preferred. * RN license or new graduate proof of intent to test. * Employment in this position is contingent upon successful licensure as a RN. * Current CPR certification required. · Completed AHA ACLS and TNCC Provider Course required upon hire for experienced ICU nurses. AHA ACLS within 6 months of employment and TNCC within 12 months of employment for non-experienced ICU nurses. · CCRN preferred
