Job Summary

Certified Fitness Trainer in McLean, VA.

The Fitness Center is open 24 hours a day with a fitness specialist available during core business hours between 06:00-16:00, Monday through Friday. The position may also support two off site Fitness Centers with monthly personal training appointments.

As a Personal Trainer you will:

  • Conduct fitness consultations and assessments which include nutritional counseling, proper use of fitness equipment, proper form of exercises, etc.

  • Develop unique and individualized programs that ensure client safety, satisfaction, and enhancement of personal goals

  • Develop individualized exercise programs consistent with clients’ personal fitness and exercise goals

  • Monitor and assist clients to ensure proper form is used when performing exercises

  • Advise clients on ways to achieve their fitness goals

  • Ensure facility cleanliness and tidiness

  • Ensure safe and effective use of equipment

  • Track weekly metrics on fitness appointments

  • Maintain a consistent client base as established by the Fitness Chief

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients throughout the facilities

  • Help "market" Wellness and personal training to clients

  • Conduct presentations on fitness, nutrition or other related topic

  • Manage and/or assist group fitness programs with 500 or more participants

  • Assist with additional responsibilities as needed

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science or related discipline

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

  • One (1) year recent experience working as a Personal Trainer

  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel and Lotus Notes)

  • Shall possess ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance with a Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of IC regulations, policies, practices and procedures

  • Knowledge of MS Office products

  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with team and customers

  • Good oral and written communication skills sufficient to respond to customers’ routine questions in a clear and concise manner

  • Current Personal Training certification from a nationally recognized organization or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire

  • Certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Sports Performance Association (NSPA) or the International Sports Science Association (ISSA) is desirable

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Experience in designing and implementing personal fitness regimens

  • Willingness to attend professional training and development

  • Motivation, energy, and enthusiasm, with a desire to succeed

  • Able to travel to off site facilities as needed
