CACI NSS, Inc. has an immediate opportunity for a Hardware Engineer to provide cutting edge services within the Intelligence Community.

You will join 3 elite Datacenter Engineers in managing and deploying systems in 3 customer-owned Data Centers. You will be integral to the processes of analyzing new data requirements; identifying where new equipment will be located; assigning and installing rack space; providing power connections to IT equipment; ensuring HVAC and power balancing; overseeing mechanical (HVAC) & electrical infrastructure; maintaining floor diagrams; maintaining equipment locations and rack elevations; and assisting vendors (IBM, EMC, SUN & VION) with placement and installation of equipment.

You will:

  • Rack and test server equipment

  • Install server racks and provide connectivity

  • Attend customer requirements meetings

  • Remove and PTI racks / servers / server hardware

  • Provide connectivity and power to racks, blades, and servers

  • Maintain documentation and LN databases to track / processes and installations

Will Require work at other data centers within WMA

Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent and five to seven years of related experience.

Position requires the ability to maintain a Top Secret / SCI with Polygraph US government security clearance.


  • Data Center environment experience (3-5 years), supporting application hosting requirements for enterprise and non-enterprise systems; connected to multiple networks

  • Experience in developing criteria for implementing new systems in a datacenter environment

  • Demonstrate the capability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of electrical components including receptacles, circuit types, etc.

  • Experience in handling CAT5 and CAT6 and fiber optic cabling

  • Experience configuring servers, communications devices and peripheral equipment.

  • Experience installing network hardware.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs of equipment.

  • Experience with MS Office Suite

  • This position requires some physically active movement within a datacenter. Candidate must be able to work in confined spaces (e.g., working under raised-access flooring).


  • Experience in creating and maintaining SOPs

  • Experience with the following: Dell, HP BladeServers, IBM Bladecenters Active Directory

  • Experience using a ticketing system, such as Remedy or Maximo

  • Experience with optimizing data center assets (HVAC, power, floor space) to meet customer requirements and mitigate adverse impacts (ie hotspots) to the fullest extent possible

  • Experience with DCIM software (such as APC, Raritin)

  • Autocad Experience

  • Proficient with Visio to create/maintain data center documentation to include floor plan layout and rack/elevation drawings

  • Experience in Electrical wiring, Basic electrical calculations, etc.
