Current Need

The VP/GM carries full P&L and capital responsibility for the SKY (Concord, NC) and Rx (Memphis, TN) Packaging sites. Responsible for significant customer interaction leading to key customer retention and new business development that drives sales profitability for US Pharma. Responsible for achieving operating metrics for assigned sites. Provides direction and leadership to ensure execution of the packaging business operating plans, employee engagement and development, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, develops and builds current/new customer accounts/initiatives for the packaging brand to increase new sources of revenue and income. Ensures compliance with company and regulatory policies and requirements. Acts as company representative in influencing local public policy. Contributes to development of regional strategic plan.

Position Description

  • General Management

  • Drive successful financial, operational, employee and customer results to achieve defined scorecard goals in each area.

  • Manage and/or coordinate all functions relating to the distribution business in their area of responsibility, managing dashboard of key operations metrics. Direct reports will be team leads for Operations, Sales, Quality and Systems

  • Manage complex matrix relationships with functions impacting or impacted by their distribution business.

  • Drive the visibility of the McKesson brand in their markets.

  • Participate as member of SVP region management team including attending meetings; provide thought leadership for their market and region.

  • Manage integration of Sky facility in Charlotte, NC to Memphis RxPak location over the next 12-15 months.

  • Revenue Growth and Sales Management

  • Formulate and manage sales strategy for various markets; ensure customer retention and new business acquisition.

  • Engage and establish relationships with major customers; anticipate and successfully address business at risk.

  • Participate in significant customer interaction leading to key customer retention and new business development that drives sales profitability in Hospital and Retail segments, as well as future market packaging opportunities.

  • Manage P&L for their area of responsibility.

  • Contribute to network understanding of trends, issues and strategies in their market.

  • Daily Operations

  • Drive achievement of BOS metrics and monitor quality, cost, asset management and other operating metrics.

  • Define and drive Operations priorities for their market; ensure environment for quick problem solving and decision making.

  • Resolve all issues and concerns, or provide support and resources to your team to resolve.

  • Facilitate cross functional understanding and cooperation by holding regular staff meetings and developing effective leadership team.

  • Employee Attraction, Retention and Development

  • Develop strong team of leaders providing coaching and appropriate development opportunities for direct reports.

  • Ensure high quality employee attraction, engagement and development at all levels, building bench strength through modeling of ICARE/iLEAD and development of a high-performing culture.

  • Effectively manage all people issues including, but not limited to, labor, turnover, generational, diversity.

Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, projects and initiatives related to Regulatory Affairs, including Pedigree, Pricing, Mergers and Acquisitions, Community Relations, Public Policy, etc.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10 years’ experience in sales and operations in Pharmaceutical and/or Packaging distribution network

  • 5 years of leading large teams in manufacturing or distribution environment required prior management experience required.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a technical discipline

  • MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred

Certification/Licensure

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics or related discipline.

Preferred: Master's Degree in Business Administration or related discipline.

Travel required:

Must have ability to travel up to 75% of the time, especially during the Sky integration

Must be willing to relocate to Memphis, TN
