AECOM is seeking a Reliability Technician at the subject matter expert level to join our Factory Support Services team based in the Midwest!
This elite team of industrial maintenance specialists is deployed from our regional hub to a network of manufacturing facilities to support and supplement our existing local workforce, tackle special projects, and deliver impeccable service. The team drives high level PM projects and corrective actions; TPM and reliability projects; and new business startups. Top performers will be offered training in predictive maintenance techniques, tools, and tasks.
This position travels frequently to established client sites throughout the Midwest, South Central, and Southeastern regions, and may travel to new work sites to support business startup teams nationwide.
Relocation assistance to the regional hub may be available to qualified candidates.
Each site visit may require 1 – 3 weeks of onsite work , and expected travel is 75% or more.
This position will require extensive travel, both ground and air. The Technician will be responsible for tracking and recording travel related expenses to be reimbursed by the company.
The Technician will be responsible for creating trip reports as well as customer billing and hour tracking logs.
This position will represent the company in front of multiple customers as the service technician from beginning to end of projects and assignments. May be work as an individual or as a member of a group supporting customer projects.
Valid passport is highly desired.
This reliability maintenance specialist must demonstrate strong mechanical and electrical skills and Lean Manufacturing knowledge base , and may work as a hands-on technician 25-50% of the time.
- 6+ years of experience working in an industrial production environment is highly desired.
Adds support to our maintenance teams by developing strategies that help create processes and programs able to achieve lower operating costs and increased asset reliability.
Proactively identifies potential project problems or opportunities and analyzes the issues , using all appropriate resources, to develop the optimum approach to mitigating problems and/or exploiting opportunities.
Maintains current knowledge of best in class maintenance practices and predictive maintenance activities
Identifies opportunities, perform root cause analysis, and develop reliability standards associated with proprietary machine tools and testing equipment
Leads and facilitates TPM events with maintenance technicians.
Drives Root Cause Analysis and recommends, initiates, and tracks corrective actions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Planning for shutdowns, turnarounds and plant outages;
Utilizes strong organizational problem-solving skills and creative thinking to manage continuous improvement.
High level maintenance planning and materials management ;
Performing risk-based asset management and root cause analysis;
Developing predictive maintenance strategies and training tools ;
Leading reliability and operations excellence.
Using predictive maintenance tools such as Thermal Imaging, Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Ultrasound Technology, and Laser Alignment.

High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Six years of experience as a production / process technician maintaining, troubleshooting or repairing mechanical equipment and systems in an industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to travel 75% or more to remote work sites and business startups nationwide.
Valid Driver’s License.
Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
This position requires a valid Driver’s License.
This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Associates Degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Mechanical, or related program.
Experience utilizing Continuous Improvement disciplines such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, 4 M’s, etc.
Experience leading Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) events.
Experience conducting PdM type surveys and assessments, including IR, Ultrasound, Vibration, and Oil Analysis.
Experience analyzing data to provide continuous improvements and root cause analysis driven actions
ASNT NDT Level 1 (or higher) certification in one or more technologies
Experience with engineered solutions and implementation of equipment design changes and improvements
Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
Work schedules can change based on critical business needs.
