Eaton Corporation Team Lead - Wiring in Milton, Ontario

Eaton located in Milton has an opening for a Team Lead- Wiring.

Position Overview:

Reporting to a Production Manager/Supervisor, the Team Lead is responsible for providing support with the organization of wiring for complex assemblies, ensuring delivery schedules are met, providing guidance on production methods/procedures, and providing coaching and training to wiring personnel. The Team Lead will be directly involved with the manufacturing process, including and not limited to: proactively identifying and troubleshooting issues, wiring, and ensuring the delivery of finished product through to the test area and final shipping.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist Production Manager/Supervisor with the coordination of manpower requirements on a day-to-day and hour-to-hour basis, reviewing daily production & Takt requirements, and matching/sharing appropriate staff across departments to maximize productivity/efficiencies.

  • Check parts picked/delivered to parts required Resolve discrepancies, if any, with Manager/Supervisor when required.

  • Escalate and help resolve schematic issues/concerns/errors with the Engineering Department

  • Provide best-practice feedback to Engineering when required.

  • Troubleshoot with tester, which could result in repairs and modification of any errors identified.

  • Ensure departmental consistency in wiring for units of the same order.

  • Ensure that Wiring team is working to CSA and UL code as well as to customer specifications.

  • Report on production issues to applicable parties, e.g., Production Supervisor(s) and/or Production Manager.

  • Ensure employees work to standard operating procedures, bill of materials, manufacturing information, and instruction from Management or Engineering to established procedures.

  • Maintain & promote a positive commitment to driving a Zero Incident Safety Culture.

  • Promote a continuous improvement culture through the utilization of LEAN tools, fostering an environment that utilizes facts/data to identify potential problems and implement corrective action.

  • Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary, using the principles of 5S.

  • Review drawings on layout and modules, check for accuracy. Review MI and special material requirements. Ensure the necessary drawings, materials, and tools are available prior to start of wiring.

  • Ensures material is available for production line, to meet scheduled demand.

  • Complete Non-Conformance Reports, as required, and follow-up on disposition.

  • Ensure proper transactions in Oracle to complete jobs and ensure Balance on Hand (BOH) accuracy; Provide assistance to employees with Oracle transactions, as required.

  • Take daily attendance, logging instances of absenteeism and elevating chronic attendance/punctuality issues to Manager/Supervisor for resolution.

  • Assist team in achieving plant and department goals.

  • Contribute to development & delivery of dept. APEX performance evaluations; Enforce Eaton/LVDA Policy, and elevate performance issues to Manager/Supervisor for resolution.

  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Assist Production Manager/Supervisor with Workplace inspections conducted as specified in company procedure.

  • Correcting sub-standard acts or conditions.

Employee Relations

  • Communicate with administrative, plant and supervisory staff as required.

  • Perform overtime as necessary in accordance with both LVDA policy and legislative requirements.

  • Comply with Eaton’s Ethical and Harassment Policies.

  • Provide and/or participate in training as required.

  • Comply with company rules, regulations and policies as stated in the Employee Guidebook.

  • Act as team player and participate in department and/or plant committees.

Operational Excellence

  • Report any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment and/or tools immediately to your Supervisor.

  • Record and/or report product damage/nonconformities to your Supervisor as required.

  • Comply with EQS (Eaton Quality System) policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 graduate.

  • Mimum 2 years of experience leading a team in a manufacturing setting

  • Must live within 80km of Milton ca, no relocation benefits provided.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and continuous improvement techniques (preferred).

  • Experience in a fabrication/assembly environment with emphasis on electrical wiring.

  • 2 years experience leading a team
