Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Geologist to join the Milwaukee, WI office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in geology, specific to the environmental industry. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance

  • Works under only general direction

  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions

  • Solves problems by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments

  • Participates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives

  • Conducts analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sources

  • Performs inspections and tests to ensure compliance

  • Participates in developing corrective measures and procedures

  • Formulates hypothesis, performs research and makes recommendation

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in science or related field

  • 4+ years of experience

  • General knowledge of geological principles including physical geology, hydrology, hydrogeology, stratigraphy, structural geology, geomorphology, environmental geology, and geophysics

  • Field work experience

  • Good written and verbal communication skills with an ability to convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to learn through on-the-job experience

  • Ability to interact with multi-office and multi-discipline teams within AECOM

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree

  • 5+ years' of experience on environmental projects

  • Professional Geologist
