Eaton's Life Safety Division (Electrical Sector) has an opening for a:

RF Engineer

Location: Mitcheldean - UK

The RF Engineer will be part of a R&D team engaged in the design and development of a range of products covering Eaton’s portfolio of Security Control Systems, predominately panels and detecting devices. Working within a multi-disciplinary team delivering an ambitious New Product Development roadmap, the candidate must be capable of adhering to strict deadlines, controlled costs, performance goals and conformance to regulatory standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Ownership of our EMC test facility (Maintenance, calibration)

  • Sign off of competent persons using the lab facilities

  • HW signoff over EMC compatibility of new and existing products.

  • Antenna design

  • Microwave and RF electronic design

  • PCB layout

  • Antenna and circuit simulation

  • System level design, including concept development, requirements capture, development and verification within a defined budget and timescale

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in electrical engineering / preferably RF specialism

  • Strong experience of design for EMC compliance.

  • Strong awareness of analogue and digital electronic design principles.

  • Familiar with BOMs, component selection and cost reduction.

  • Demonstrated application of executing to timescales and in working within and leading project managed processes.

  • The proven ability to multi-task on a number of projects.

  • High level of PC literacy across the Microsoft Office suite

Specialized Knowledge:

  • A solid theoretical underpinning in Electromagnetic and circuit theory

  • Antenna design experience

  • Active and passive RF and Microwave circuit design.
