Eaton Corporation Business Development Specialist - Retail in Modesto, California

Eaton Hydraulics has an opening for a Business Development Specialist in the West region located in California.

Position Overview:

This position drives growth of Eaton sales (all products) through increased share of hydraulic spend at NAPA distribution and retail stores. Responsible for building relationships with NAPA Distribution Centers. Understanding the direction of each and getting Eaton in a position to be first choice for expansion, new startups and competitive conversions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Establish effective relationships with NAPA DC,s, company stores and Jobbers.

  • Drive growth through leveraging national agreements with the collaboration of Eaton and retail sales resources

  • Collaborate with product management create effective and profitable product offerings, price strategies and promotional activity. Provide financial review and analysis of all promotional programs to determine effectiveness.

  • Drive increasing share of retail customers hydraulic spend through the effective management of the embedded retail aftermarket team

  • Plan strategic and effective spending of Market Development Funds and all other Eaton funded initiatives. Provide monthly updates of forecasted spending to Channel Marketing Manager assuring spending does not exceed both the monthly forecast and total available funding.

  • Monitor customer scorecard measures and initiate appropriate actions to continuously improve ratings.

  • Collaborate with Eaton HD Specialist to communicate, drive and measure corporate growth initiatives within the retail aftermarket companies.

  • Provide monthly updates on all key activities and initiatives, quarterly updates on alignment to Retail Aftermarket earnings releases and annual complete customer profile update.

  • Develop commercial programs and policies that facilitate significant sales growth while maximizing Eaton margin dollars

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 1 year Sales, Marketing or product management experience.

  • Candidates must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Modesto, CA; Fresno, CA; or Sacramento, CA to be considered.

Position Criteria:

  • Technical knowledge of Fluid Conveying products

  • Comprehensive understanding of the customers’ business and served markets.

  • Ability to understand and manage the complete Eaton channel strategy to assure Eaton’s market share and profit margins are maximized in the aftermarket.

  • Communication and leadership skills required to influence, motivate and direct the activities of the sales team and others within the organization to achieve goals.

  • Multi-tasking skills are required due to the number of customer programs, issues and initiatives that may be occurring simultaneously.
