Position Description

The Data Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that data processed and delivered within McKesson Pharmacy Technology & Services is delivered with the highest quality. The role is part technical and part business-focused.

The Data Quality Manager has responsibilities for implementing the best strategies for managing data and data delivery. They are the business owner for developing and implementing process improvements for data activities. The Data Quality Manager must be a self-starter with a strategic mindset for helping the business identify and address issues or risks with data processing.

In addition to strategic responsibilities, the role also includes operational responsibilities around data assets including areas including, but not limited to:

  • Audits– regular reviews of data included in feeds, data rights, and security

  • Automation– remove risk by limiting manual activity in data processing

  • TestCases – create and manage test cases for evaluating data delivered

  • DataVendor Support – support data recipients and assist in investigation ofcritical issues

  • Documentation– assist in maintenance of data feed procedure documents

  • Legal/Compliance– business partner for Legal/Compliance teams

  • DataDelivery Approvals – analyze and approve new data feeds

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategicresearch/improvements/implementations

  • Projectmanagement of data improvement opportunities

  • Meetings,other general business functions


3 years data management experience and 1 years of management experience

Critical Skills

  • 5 years’experience in database management systems such as SQL Server or Oracle

  • 2 years’ experienceautomating database tasks and related tools

  • Ability tointerface with both technical and business resources

  • Ability to manageand prioritize many diverse technical tasks

  • Self-starter withstrategic mindset for process improvement

    Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Experiencewith Microsoft Azure a plus.

  • Knowledgeof HIPAA, deidentification or other health informatics areas a plus.

  • Experiencein .NET, Report writing, or other programming languages a plus.


Advanced degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
