Frontier Communications NETWORK ENG SR MGR in MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina
Summary: The Manager of Engineering, supports multiple levels in the organization with varied and diverse responsibilities for Operating Area 3. Included in these responsibilities is the management of the workforce to insure proper staffing, make and/or approve recommendations for hiring, positive discipline up to and including termination, coaching, mentoring and maintain balance to ensure conformance to required targeted goals, company and union policies. Coordinate joint departments activities handle administrative functions and work with other departments to define company direction, priorities and coordinate build-out initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Directly supervise OSP Engineers. Manage internal resources and conduct vendor management responsibilities (including timely bill processing). Supervise all outside plant engineering activities including but not limited to structure (poles/conduit), cable (copper/fiber) placement/replacement along with process management and process improvements within the Southeast Operating Area. Ensure work order objectives, network quality, safety, budgetary requirements are met (including CWIP compliance). Support the development of the annual capital budget. Track project completions and costs to insure compliance to budget targets and goals. Support the development of the annual operating budget. Develop and implement plans to support sales, marketing and regulatory efforts. Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure customer requests are completed by desired/committed due dates.
Qualifications: This position requires knowledge of business principles, telecommunications, telephony accounting, finance, construction principles, engineering principles, negotiation skills and mastery level skills in internal and external customer service. It also requires strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, resource coordination, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong project management skills, and proven ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Some travel may be required.
Education/Experience: A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in telecommunications and finance.
