/AVP, Finance Business Unit @ Sarah Cannon//– Now Hiring –Apply Online Today!/ // _Summary of Responsibilities_: The Finance Business Unit AVP provides both operational and financial support to ensure successful delivery of Sarah Cannon business objectives. The leader reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Sarah Cannon and directly assists the Vice President and President of Clinical Operations on all strategic and tactical matters related to budget management, operating results, forecasting needs, analysis of acquisition opportunities, and analysis to support healthcare reimbursement and vendor negotiations. The Finance BU AVP is a key member of the Sarah Cannon Research leadership team providing insight and thought leadership on the effectiveness and direction of one or more Research lines of business. The leader possesses excellent communication skills that enable collaboration with other executives within Sarah Cannon, HCA, and key customers of Sarah Cannon.
_Duties and Responsibilities:_ * Partners with leadership from one or more Research business units in the formulation of business strategies and plans to effectively and efficiently drive growth * Establishes reporting structures to manage the effectiveness of research programs and ongoing operations * Provides analysis and insight on reimbursements to recommend alternative payment models or support negotiation strategies * Lead and develop business cases to guide investment decisions including incremental resources, potential partnerships, and asset acquisition * Establishes collaborative partnerships with the scientific and clinical leadership throughout the Sarah Cannon network * Proactively identifies opportunities to reduce operating expenses in the delivery of services * Effectively leverages the accounting and reporting capabilities of the Controller and other members of the Finance leadership team to develop insight from reported data and identification of cross department or business unit opportunities * Lead and develop employees required to deliver assigned responsibilities * Advise research leadership to ensure ongoing compliance with internal controls and organization policies
Knowledge:/A body of information needed to perform a tasks; May be obtained through education, training or experience/ * Knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP * Knowledge of accounting processes and information systems * Knowledge of cost accounting principles and reporting techniques * Knowledge of current and future trends of business unit industry * PC skills - demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
