Job Summary – This position is responsible for supporting the assessment and implementation of Environmental Services (EVS) operational improvement and expense management solutions for HCA facilities. This position will serve as a subject matter expert in EVS standardization and utilization, general EVS hospital programs, technology utilization, and operations. This position is responsible for building strategic alliances with HCA Corporate, Division, and Hospital Executive Staff, and EVS Department Directors as it relates to successfully executing an EVS improvement plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Demonstrates the ability to assist in providing leadership in the area of EVS operations and expense management that contribute to HCA’s Corporate, Division and facility overall strategic plan as it relates to improving EVS operations and expense management
Demonstrates the ability to assist in developing and achieving established targets, e.g., SKU reduction, expense reduction, improving operations and metrics related to the patient experience
Demonstrates the ability to assess, implement, and coordinate within the Hospital or Division:
o Standardization of policies and procedures related to EVS expense management and operations
o Purchasing compliance of contracted products and equipment associated with EVS
o Drive processes that improve progress with benchmarks on EVS related dashboards for the facility and Division
o Identify and replicate best practices throughout HCA
Interacts and develops relationships with internal and external stakeholders to better understand needs and challenges.
Coordinates the implementation and delivery of customer solutions that includes improvement of patient satisfaction results as it relates to EVS
Provides educational opportunities to customers in regards to training staff and team building.
Builds and maintains strong, effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders within HealthTrust, Parallon Supply Chain Solutions and organization’s leadership and staff.
Assists facility EVS leadership with productivity assessments to meet established EVS labor savings goals.
Analyze spend, savings, compliance, and rebate data and provide expertise to assist EVS facility directors to improve operational efficiencies.
Identify opportunities to standardize supply purchasing and reduce expense.
Directs multiple projects and tasks in a fast paced environment.
Demonstrates the ability to develop a project plan for major projects.
Develops milestones for projects to determine outcomes are achieved.
Monitors goal achievement. General Knowledge/Competencies
Provides effective communication which includes verbal and good listening, writing, and presentation skills to a variety of stakeholders from executives to staff.
Able to assist in providing direction, coaching and appraising of EVS department performance
Demonstrates a track record of success.
Demonstrates effective problem solving skills which includes understanding issues, able to simply and process issues, understanding the difference between critical details and unimportant facts.
Demonstrates continuous learning orientation and inspires confidence with internal and external customers.
A Baccalaureate degree required. Proficiency with excel and spread sheet data compilation, pivot tables, and analytical process is preferred.
A minimum of five years in a healthcare environmental service operations and leadership role experience required. Proven track record in program development and execution. Extensive knowledge of floor care maintenance. Basic excel, word and power point presentation skills required. Proficiency with excel and spread sheet data compilation, pivot tables, and analytical process is highly preferred.
LEAN and/or 6 Sigma Certification preferred
