Sodexo is seeking a Patient Services Manager 2 for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Vanderbilt University Medical Center is a 800 bed facility with one main kitchen and is running Sodexo's Expressly for You Patient Meal Delivery System (EFY). Position will have diet office oversight as well as some kitchen oversight and Health Touch programming responsibilities. The PSM 2 will conduct tray assessments and meal rounds. Position will be responsible for cash handling as well as assisting with catering and retail as needed.

Looking for candidate who can drive Patient Satisfaction Scores - Press Ganey. Strong Leadership skills is a must. Fast paced environment. Will manage 30 plus employees. Responsible for Staffing, Training and developing relationships with Nursing Staff.

Coverage includes responsibility for patient services leadership, as well as some retail (cafeteria) and production oversight. The Patient Services Manager 2 will work in partnership with the Nutrition Services management team to support efforts to embrace innovation and new thinking for driving a healthier future. Working closely with the General Manager, Nutrition Services Management team, and client nursing and operations leaders, the Patient Services Manager will oversee day-to-day operations while developing creative ideas for ensuring a best in class patient experience.

Technical skills include high levels of proficiency with data analysis, Microsoft Office, menu planning & forecasting processes, and understanding of safe food handling practices, qualities, and standards (e.g. HAACP forms, temperature logs, safety audits, inventory management, etc.) Additionally, the Patient Services Manager 2 will appreciate the importance of partnering with hospital leaders and employees in other departments to exceed expectations of patients and guests.

Position Summary

Provides direction for patient meal services at patient care units to ensure customer satisfaction and retention for the Company.

Key Duties

  • Directs daily operations of patient meal services at patient care units to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.

  • Supervises day-today work activities by delegating authority, assigning, scheduling, and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards.

  • Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to employees.

  • Performs audits and prepares reports.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
