Summary of Key Responsibilities: Provides support to the institution’s growing molecular profiling initiative, including maintaining accurate records for tissue sample acquisition and shipping, obtaining archived tumor biopsies, responding to queries from sponsors and contract labs and tracking various metrics around the entire process.
Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include but are not limited to: * Maintain accurate records of tissue sample acquisition and shipping. * Notify courier of any sample shipments. * If samples arrive late, make necessary arrangements via FedEx, UPS, etc. * Assist with process of obtaining archived tumor biopsies and sending/retrieving to/from study sponsor or contract lab. * Ensure adequate supply of dry ice is available for shipments. * Package and ship biopsy samples according to shipping manuals. * Respond to queries generated from study sponsor or contract lab regarding patient and sample data. * Track metrics, including total number of requests, amount received from path labs, amount sent to testing lab, insufficient samples, average time to receive, amount of tissue received after testing, amount of tissue returned to labs and overall number of days for processing. Report metrics monthly to leadership. * Participate in educational activities and programs. * Maintain strictest confidentiality. * Work closely and effectively with all other department personnel. * Assist other staff as requested and perform other related work as needed. * Maintain positive and cooperative relationships in day-to-day interactions and communications. *Mandatory: * * Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement” * During your employment with SCRI you will be routinely assigned training requirements. You are expected to complete any training assignments by the due date.

Education: Minimum Required: High School Diploma (GED) Preferred:Technical School
Experience: * Work experience (in healthcare, preferred) * Clinical and/or Scientific experience in a research setting specifically with working with profiling * At least 3 years of experience is preferred
