Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Chemical Process Engineer to work in the New Orleans, LA office. This position is contingent upon contract award with an anticipated hire date in August 2017.

Position Description or Typical Responsibilities:

Successful Candidate will:

  • Perform conceptual, preliminary, and detailed process design.

  • Responsible for engineering and design activities including working directly with other engineers and design drafters to produce engineering documents and designs for various upstream, midstream, and downstream related facilities.

  • Serves as a technical specialist for the group in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles or processes.

  • Plans and develops segments of engineering projects with unique or controversial problems that have an important effect on major organization programs, which involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, and development of novel concepts and approaches.

  • Responsible for interfacing with the client on process issues and assuring that the work of other engineering disciplines satisfies process requirements.

  • Assist in the coordination between engineering disciplines, participating in project planning activities, and support cost and schedule updates.

  • Assists Business Line Managers in the development of new business, marketing to potential and existing clients.

Minimum Requirements

Process Consulting Engineer I

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in chemical engineering discipline from a four year accredited college or university.

Experience:

  • 7 years of process engineering experience in chemical process engineering and design

  • Development of Piping & Instrumentation and Process Flow Diagrams ( P&ID's and PFD's)

  • Development of Process Models

  • Previous experience involving the treatment of High CO2 and H2S Content Gas

  • Previous experience designing physical solvent and amines systems

  • Previous experience with steam system and utility process design

  • Experience utilizing process simulation software

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen

OR

Consulting Engineer II

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in Chemical Engineering from a four year accredited college or university.

Experience:

  • 8 years of professional experience in chemical or process engineering and design

  • Development of Piping & Instrumentation and Process Flow Diagrams ( P&ID's and PFD's)

  • Development of Process Models

  • Previous experience involving the treatment of High CO2 and H2S Content Gas

  • Previous experience designing physical solvent and amines systems

  • Previous experience with steam system and utility process design

  • Experience utilizing process simulation software

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer 12 years of engineering experience

  • Professional Engineering License

  • Experience using Aspen HYSYS simulation software

  • Experience with Excel VBA, and custom Excel interfaces

Additional Information:

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)

  • Must be able to obtain Personal Identification Verification (PIV) which complies with Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD‐12.)

  • Relocation and per diem support are not available for this position
