IBM Sales Engineer for The Weather Company in New York, New York
The Weather Company, an IBM Business is seeking Sales Engineers. The Sales Engineer (SE) will serve as the meteorological and technical resource for sales activities and engagements, working hand-in-hand with TWC Business Development Managers and IBM sellers to support sales activities and liaise between IBM and TWC resources.
The SE will align TWC technical and meteorological resources to support sales engagements, and actively engage the BDMs in the development of technical account plans and proposals.
The SE will apply consultative solution selling skills to conduct discovery activities, translate needs into complex solutions, articulate unique value and drive sales to meteorological and technical closure for relevant opportunities.
This includes delivering demos, trials, proofs-of-concepts and post-sales diagnostic support - or create the appropriate infrastructure for demos, trials, and proofs-of-concepts to be delivered by IBM sales teams.
The SE will serve as a liaison to TWC to ensure relevant seller/customer feedback on product and process improvements is considered.
The SE will conduct knowledge transfer sessions to educate IBM resources with the latest meteorological, industry and product knowledge.
The SE will be responsible for maintaining deep meteorological and technical expertise across multiple product, solutions and industry verticals.
At least 3 years related experience
Strong public speaking capability – comfortable, confident, engaging and credible with large or small audiences
Skilled in delivering training sessions
Exhibits strong interpersonal consultative selling skills and is able to effectively communicate and be convincing with meteorological/technical influencers and managers in selling situations
