As a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer, your role is to serve as the lead engineer on the engineering team relating to cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about technology, and has experience identifying solutions utilizing the best of what cloud services can offer. You will build and deploy cloud services in fully virtualized IaaS and PaaS operating environments. You will influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for large-scale distributed systems. Engineer and implement new cloud technology solutions Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for Project Managers, Software and Engineering teams, to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve the product's vision Obtain and maintain an in-depth understanding of private cloud, AWS public cloud and Azure public cloud technology to ensure all appropriate options are considered to support business initiatives Work closely with multiple Project Management and Software Engineering teams on understanding ways to improve MMC’s IaaS and PaaS services Be an advocate for our customers in representing their issues to MMC Leadership and develop innovative ways to resolve issues Qualifications Java Script in order to support ongoing development and expansion of services to the MMC Private Cloud Previous or current experience as a Linux Systems Administrator Hands-on experience with VMware VSphere and VRealize Automation Platform, specifically experience with VRealize Orchestrator Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including RDS, EC2, S3, VPC, IAM Experience with SOAP and REST APIs to support integration of infrastructure, cloud and platform as a service technologies Experience with Docker Containers and automating the lifecycle management of containers Knowledge of web, security, and networking protocols Experience with web-based applications and/or web services-based applications Experience in managing hosting environments supporting thousands to tens of thousands of server images A commitment to best practices and striving for the elimination of manual operational processes to promote a DevOps oriented software delivery model Marsh & McLennan Companies offers competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits and programs including: health and welfare, tuition assistance, 401K, employee assistance program, domestic partnership benefits, career mobility, employee network groups, volunteer opportunities, and other programs.
