Marsh & McLennan Summer Associate (Finance Leadership Development Program) in New York, New York

Position Summary:

The program offers a challenging opportunity for high-potential candidates to develop a thorough understanding of our businesses and Global Finance group. Summer Associates have access to Marsh & McLennan Companies' key decision makers. Summer Associates will be assigned a Peer Advisor who is fully committed to their development and key initiatives. Further, the program includes networking and social events, volunteering, and a final end-of-summer presentation, which will be presented to the Executive Committee and other stakeholders.

Upon successful completion of the summer program, Summer Associates have the potential to receive a full-time offer to the two-year FLDP rotation. Full-time roles will be dependent on successful graduation from the individual’s MBA program.


Support MMC Global Finance through the assigned placement team Assist in managing/executing functional team projects and strategic initiatives Depending on placement, responsibilities may include, but are not necessarily limited to:

Competitor and industry analyses Due diligence and valuation modeling Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Investor Relations analysis and communications Cash flow and liquidity analysis Corporate accounting and public company filings Presenting detailed findings from data set analysis Review and evaluate controls to improve operating efficiency Engage in learning, networking, community service, and events Complete and present end-of-summer program projects. Qualifications Education (degree / diploma): Full-time status at a top-tier MBA program and will graduate by Spring 2019 Experience: Ideally 3+ years of pre-MBA work experience Knowledge and skills (general and technical): Meet deadlines and produce high quality work on a consistent basis Strong work ethic Excellent academic track record Interest and familiarity with general corporate finance functions and operations Self-starter who can work in a team environment and across functional areas Strong written & verbal communication skills Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) Ambitious and hardworking attitude Analytical aptitude and interest Strong organizational skills Project management skills Other requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training) Ability to work from June to August (dates to be confirmed) Permanently authorized to work in the United States Marsh & McLennan Companies is a global professional services firm offering clients advice and solutions in the areas of risk, strategy and people.
