CACI International Paralegal/Legal Assistant I - Newark, NJ in Newark, New Jersey
Provide a variety of direct paralegal services to staff. RMBS Section
Duties and RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Seek and locate sources of information, in aid of investigations and trials by contact or correspondence with other departments and/or agencies of federal, state and local government.
-Gather factual material independently; read, annotate, and summarize transcripts, files and other factual aspects of the case; obtain financial and statistical information, agency records, court records and other public records; analyze documents and draft factual memoranda.
-Perform specialized detailed legal research as necessary.
-Organizing and processing huge quantities of data and discovery documents.
-Responsible for preparing numerous exhibits for trial.
-Provide automated litigation assistance to attorneys in trial preparation and courtroom presentations.
-Utilize various software applications and graphics hardware such as scanners and plotters.
-Prepare documents, charts and visual materials for use in trials.
-Provide technical support, e.g., enlarging charts and photographs, duplicating tapes and videos, and marking exhibits.
-Provide critical assistance in trial preparations.
-Relevant experience with both pre-trial and trial litigation support is expected.
-Experience working with such electronic databases as Concordance and Sanctions for the organization and presentation of evidence.
-Requires paralegal certificate.
-At least one year of litigation paralegal experience required; trial experience very helpful.
-Automated litigation support experience very helpful.
-Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation system sufficient to perform basic legal research.
-Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and WestLaw.
-Should have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, imaging, and telecommunications.
-Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
-The clearance level required is dependent on the type of clearance supported by our client.

Bachelors Degree Preferred
