Position Title Construction Project Engineer

AECOM is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to be based in our Niles, MI location.
This is a senior level construction management position.
The Project Construction Engineer will report to the Site or Project Manager and will lead a core group of constriction engineering professionals executing the installation of Power Plant systems in support of the Client’s mission of safe, economical power generation.
Under general direction, the PCE is fully responsible for planning, mobilizing, executing and demobilizing field operations with a specific emphasis on project cost, schedule performance, safety and quality compliance, field procurement, and monitoring field construction operations for the assigned project.
Working with other construction professionals, the PCE will be responsible to oversee construction and provide final approval of completed construction tasks to ensure construction conforms to design specifications for very large and/or complex construction projects.
Conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard construction techniques.
Will be required to travel and will be based at a field site.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or demonstrated combination of education/training and experience.
A minimum of 12 years experience in the construction industry.
Extensive experience as a Chief Field or Field Construction Project Engineer, with recent experience (multiple projects within the past 5 years) directing field engineering for a Combined Cycle and/or Gas Turbine power project.
Candidate shall have demonstrated ability to work on unusually complicated, direct hire EPC projects.
The candidate shall possess a thorough knowledge of all engineering disciplines, construction technologies and job site management techniques.
Experience required shall include supervising a professional construction engineering staff, with a full knowledge of safety and quality regulations, schedule and cost control methodology, productivity monitoring, earned value and procurement functions.
Under minimal direction, applies advanced construction engineering theories, concepts, principles, processes and novel approaches to major, complex construction projects.
Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating complex field assignments.
Plans, organizes and provides supervision to a staff of field engineers and technicians or functions as a technical expert.
Ensures that the design engineering requirements are complied with by reviewing all design drawings/specifications and making daily field inspections as may be required to support quality functions.
Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States.
- Previous employment with AECOM, Power Group performing Construction Engineering duties at a power project construction field site is a plus.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
Per diem support is available for this position.
Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
