Eaton Corporation Manufacturing Engineer in Nordhausen, Germany


The primary objective of this position is to support manufacturing, identifying areas of inefficiency (productivity, quality, safety) within the manufacturing areas, and using Six Sigma tools to make improvements while minimizing cost.


The functions of the Associate Manufacturing Engineer position include, but are not limited to, the following:

A. Provide technical support for internal and external customers

B. Identify inefficient processes, through observation and through interaction with operators within the manufacturing areas, and implement improvements through utilization of tools like Six Sigma

C. Support and drive investment projects for improvement, including machine purchase recommendations, capital expenditure justification, installation, programming, etc

D. Lead and participate in cross-functional project teams, assist with corrective actions and implement improvements and document associated cost savings.

E. Test process changes and collect data. Use relevant software programs for statistical analysis of data. Utilize analysis to drive improvements.

F. Utilize change management processes to be sure facility systems are updated with all project improvement changes; this includes updating all relevant process documents.

G. Lead relevant safety initiatives to help drive toward a goal of zero-incident culture.


  • Describe any specialized knowledge or skill (e.g., technical, scientific, administrative, managerial) which your position requires.

  • Minimum “Techniker” degree; Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is prefered

  • Minimum 5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Right Attitude to both teamwork and ability to assert oneself

  • Prior experience and understanding of the valve manufacturing processes preferred

  • Preferred knowledge Lean Six Sigma Tools

  • Preferred knowledge Problem Solving Tools (like Green Belt).

  • Superb Flexibility if Business Issues require those

  • Strongly focused on Commitments set by Superiors

  • Strong verbal, written, and technical communication skills

  • Detail oriented and able to work with minimal supervision

  • English and German language skills require

  • Structured Approach

  • Willing to work in a multicultural and international environment.
