Job Description:

CACI is seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Technical Writer/Documentation Specialist to join our team in the Charleston, SC area to provide unparalleled support to our customer

Duties and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Researches, organizes, writes, edits, formats, assembles, and produces technical data for publication projects. Organizes material and writes descriptive copy according to standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, formatting, and terminology. Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style. May participate in the establishment of style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations. May provide work Leadership for lower level employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reports and documents can include field engineering reports, manuals, and work status reports along with other technical and non-technical customer deliverables to communicate complex and technical information easily and directly.

Works well with colleagues and external customers to ensure that technical documentation is complete and accurate.

RESPONSIBILITIES’ will include document management and version control

Coordinates of the editing, composition, production, and delivery in accordance with applicable specifications, standards, and other requirements. Participates in the establishment of guidelines and standards for text and graphics.

Conducts research on the subject matter including interviewing and observing subject matter experts, researching project/program artifacts, on-line sources, and other substantive source material to write technical materials.

Coordinates the quality-control activities required to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of each publication, including in-process and final reviews, editing for compliance with all applicable specifications and standards, validation, and change verification.

Produces documentation using MS Office/Adobe Acrobat, VISIO and text-management systems.

Maintains constantly high qualitative and quantitative output standards to ensure that quality publications are produced.

Completes all projects within the established schedules and authorized funding.

Complies with all applicable specifications, standards, and other project constraints.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to Manage and Create Templates

  • Experience Creating and Maintaining Policy

  • Active Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

Highly Preferred Education: BA degree in English, Journalism, or Technical Writing.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and two to four years of related (technical writing and copy editing) experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
