L3 Technologies Senior Electronics Engineer in Northest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

L-3 SPD Electrical Systems (SPDES) located in Northeast Philadelphia is currently looking for aSenior Electronics Engineerto join our team. Within our Philadelphia, PA facility, we have the capacity to undertake naval system design, manufacturing and integration programs of many sizes and complexity. Our products include air circuit breakers, switchgear, large motor controllers and the Power Node Control Center (PNCC) power conversion equipment.

Broad Function:Provide design support for new product development and existing product upgrades. Use appropriate electrical analyses to evaluate design options and to ensure that design requirements will be met. Assist in the construction and testing of prototypes and qualification test units. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.


  • Assist in the development and design of Military electronic systems and sub-systems

  • Assist in the performance of both design evaluation and qualification testing of electronic systems

  • Troubleshoot existing designs and generate creative design improvements

  • Perform analysis of test data and recommend design changes

  • Verify design through the use of software simulation tools ( PSpice, Matlab Simulink, Etc)

  • Thoroughly document and explain test plans, results, and analysis to peer reviewers, internal and external customers

  • Participate in test-to test specification and reliability qualification tests

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to create new products and technologies



  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years if experience in analog design and military electronics design.

  • Knowledge of systems simulation tools such as PSpice, Matlab, etc.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • The ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

  • Familiarity with a manufacturing environment

  • The ability to work independently to assemble and test engineering models and prototypes using the latest tools and instrumentation

  • Familiar with designing for EMI/EMC a plus

  • Digital, magnetics and power conversion experience a plus.
