Global CI Manager

Location: Sutton - UK

Lead and execute the continuous improvement activities across the group. Lead specific projects at key sites. Mentor and develop staff in CI execution and tools. Deliver significant benefits in productivity, material flow, order entry and transactional processes.

The position reports to the Global Operations Director.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead CI activities across the 4 European and one Chinese plant.

  • Identify and define the transformation plan and future state to achieve SQDIP performance above profit plan

  • Develop and train the plant teams in the use of Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies

  • Prepare project decks for the group and conduct reviews to priorities key projects and deliverables

  • Manage group productivity budgets

  • Mentor project delivery

  • Develop roadmaps for process improvement in key Operations functions: customer services, supply chain, purchasing, manufacturing

  • Conduct regular project reviews with team

  • Visit key sites and drive project delivery and communication on progress at those sites

  • Support Eaton wide activities within the CI sphere

Qualifications

  • University educated to Degree level (minimum), preferably in Engineering, Quality Management or Business Systems, with a Master Degree considered a distinct advantage (preferred).

  • Have in excess of 10 years’ experience in an operational manufacturing environment.

  • At least 2 years’ experience in managing Lead / CI projects across multiple sites

  • Formal Lean training to black belt equivalent (Not LSS) level with a proven track record of deployment and implementation of Continuous Improvement techniques,

  • Six Sigma green Belt certified

  • Comfortable in cross-cultural working and a high level of travel (80%)

  • Be able to demonstrate in detail the leadership of at least 5 lean transformations.

  • A self-starter, enthusiastic and energetic; able to engage employees at all levels of an organization.

  • A refined communicator with experience of managing and driving change at all levels of a manufacturing business.

  • Able to demonstrate strong abilities in facilitation with enhanced skills in coaching and mentoring employees through training and process and procedural transformation.

  • Highly developed IT skills: detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Minitab Software.
