Kaiser Permanente Massage Therapist in Oakland, California
Establishes the goals, objectives, and standards for a Massage therapy program for Hospice patients. Establishes treatments/objectives for individual patients and makes necessary revisions per agency policy. Provides ongoing periodic assessment of the patient's Massage therapy needs. Initiates discharges from service per agency policy.
Essential Functions: - Educates and instructs the patient, patient's family or staff as required. Provides Massage Therapy services through all phases of care, taking into consideration age and developmental needs. - Participates as a member of the IDG when requested. Notifies the patient's case manager or the Patient Care Coordinator of significant changes in the patient's condition according to agency policy. Assists in coordinating massage services provided. Documents all care, interventions and care coordination per law, regulation and agency policy. - Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews of positions on a routine basis. At any time, Kaiser Permanente reserves the right to reevaluate and change job descriptions, or to change such positions from salaried to hourly pay status. Such changes are generally implemented only after notice is given to affected employees. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Experience - Minimum one (1) year of experience in a therapeutic setting. (Hospice, SNF, Rehabilitation Center) assessing need for and providing Massage Therapy. Education - High School Diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED) required. - Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program. License, Certification, Registration - Certificate from an accredited Massage Therapy program. - Current California Drivers License.

Establish facts and make valid conclusions/decisions. - Perceptual abilities: Ability to achieve understanding through utilization of the senses. - Mathematical Skills: Knowledge of arithmetic concepts. - Must be able to work in a Labor Management environment.
Preferred Qualifications: - Prefer membership in the American Massage Therapy Association and/or The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage.
