*The APD Field Claims Representative is a virtual field position based out of our Oklahoma City, OK office servicing Oklahoma City and neighboring areas. The selected candidate should reside near the posted territory but other territories may be considered based on the needs of the business.
**Candidates with previous estimating experience are preferred.
Investigates, determines liability, confirms coverage, establishes damages, and negotiates settlement of claims. Will also be required to maintain an active adjusters license in states where required.
Essential Job Functions
Receives and reviews appraisal assignments, reviews and interprets coverage, determines liability, identifies exposures, contacts all parties involved, and sets up inspection appointments.
Inspects and writes damage appraisals for private passenger vehicles. Commercial vehicle and/or motorcycle vehicle appraisal experience is a plus.
Evaluates options, ratings, and conditions of vehicles to determine if a vehicle is repairable or a total loss. Submits evaluation details to obtain a total loss value. Obtains salvage quotes. Settles total loss claims.
Negotiates with auto repairs facilities, tow facilities, salvage yards, vehicle owners, lien holders, and attorneys.

This is a field position and required job duties are performed with exposure to some or all of the following environments: Uncontrolled outside environmental conditions, Excessive Noise Levels, Chemicals, Chemical/Biological Conditions, Moving Mechanical Parts, Areas considered to be dangerous Conditions, which could affect the respiratory system or skin such as: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, oils, smoke, soot, or poor ventilation.
Four-year college degree or an automotive related Associate of Applied Science degree from an accredited technical college; or the experience described below. Outside insurance education, e.g., CPCU or GCA is preferred.
None. For applicants who do not meet the education requirements, two years working as a manager, assistant manager or lead estimator in an auto body repair facility is required. Must achieve minimum passing scores on all claims training exams.
