Current Need

This position will assist in support of production applications and services utilized at McKesson’s National Distribution Center, including documentation and implementation of information technology solutions to aid in the efficient deployment of new technology/applications and this position reports within the Production Support of the ETS Supply Chain Management.

Position Description

This position supports warehouse management system software and hardware services utilized at McKesson’s National Distribution Center .

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with colleagues, developers, testers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.

  • Planning and working flexibly to deadlines.

  • Proactively identify and implement process and technology enhancements that improve user experience and drive automation.

  • Supporting users on change control and system updates.

  • Responding to incidents in a request for Tier 1 & 2 support and providing information to higher tier IT support if needed, interacting with team members to solve issues.

  • Triage incoming support issues and determine severity and impact, escalating when appropriate to higher tier support.

  • Participating in maintenance activities on hardware, operating systems, and software applications.

  • Participate in an On-Call rotation to provide support to users during after hours.

Minimum Requirements

4 years experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems

Critical Skills

  • 4 of experience analyzing requests and making recommendations to improve processes and controls.

  • At least two years of experience in a technical support position.

  • Strong ability to provide excellent customer service and collaborate across multiple functions and levels of the organization

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management

  • Exercises judgment within defined policies and procedures for selecting methods, refining techniques, and evaluating existing criteria for obtaining results.

  • Must possess the ability to organize and coordinate systems in a complex environment.

  • Must have technical knowledge combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must have the ability to effectively manage projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Advanced understanding of servers, and network hardware, as well as advanced knowledge with operating system software work with printer support, etc.

  • Distribution or Warehouse management system experience

  • Learning the functional processes in the warehouse, documenting them and troubleshooting process issues when on call

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience implementing and/or supporting Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management Systems.

  • Experience implementing and/or supporting Warehouse Control Systems.

  • Knowledge of IBM iSeries system administration and troubleshooting.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
