Unit Description

Sodexo Health Care is hiring a Human Resources Manager 2 to provide support to health care accounts in a growing region in the Midwest. This Human Resources Manager will be based at Nebraska Medicine, a world class teaching hospital affiliated with The University of Nebraska Medical Center located in Omaha, NE. The position will require travel throughout the region(NE, KS, MO) to support other business. This is primarily a first shift opportunity, but may require additional shifts as needed along with some occasional weekends and holidays.

This Human Resources Manager will provide on-site HR and training support for the Sodexo Management staff as well as hourly hospital staff, both union and nonunion employees. All together this HR Manager will support more than 200 Environmental Services and Food Service employees.

Human Resource Manager Job Responsibilities May Include:

  • Works closely with on-site Managers to ensure compliance with Sodexo Human Resources policy and procedures.

  • Responsible for on-boarding hourly staff.

  • Execution of all Sodexo and Hospital required HR reporting.

  • Maintains employee files ensuring compliance with hospital and Sodexo standards.

  • Oversees Family Medical Leave Act, Workers Compensation and Leave of Absence tracking.

  • Oversees payroll, vacation and sick leave tracking.

  • Addresses all Sodexo employee relations issues.

  • Attends to unemployment hearings any other legal matters for the unit.

  • Interacts frequently with the Human Resource teams at each of the hospitals.

  • Responsible for all unit level recruitment including job posting and interviewing.

  • Facilitates all required Sodexo HR training programs including New Employee On-boarding.

  • Leads other human resource initiatives for the unit.

Seeking:

  • Prior Human Resources Management experience in the Hospitality industry OR with an organization with 100+ employees.

  • The ability to lead HR practices and objectives.

  • The ability to provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity standards, goal attainment.

  • The ability to maintain a flexible schedule that would include visiting each hospital location as needed to support the management teams.

  • The ability to support and promote ongoing development of a superior workforce.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of all MS Office products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

  • Knowledgeable of Nebraska and Kansas State and Federal HR policies and laws.

  • Skilled in the area of labor and employee relations.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced work environment.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Position Summary

Handles all human resource functions for one or more accounts/units. May include payroll, benefits, administration of labor contracts, training, employee relations, recruiting, safety, etc. Role focuses on hourly workforce. In some cases, may supervise clerical employees. Exists mostly in large or more complex units, or those with unionized workers.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years of HR experience
