Job Summary

The warehouse associate role is to fulfill all of the operational tasks within the warehouse in order to service our customers. As directed by the warehouse manager and/or lead hands, this position is responsible for receiving, replenishing, picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders as well as performing the day to day functions of the shift including inventory cycle counts, housekeeping and other duties as assigned.

Section A – General Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all warehouse activities that are performed follow the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures including Health and Safety, and Security policies.

  • Participate and follow all of the proper “on-job” training according to the assigned job functions (SOP’s training, etc.), and related support systems.

  • Understand and implement SOPs and follow GMP guidelines.

  • Communicate with warehouse manager, supervisors/lead hands, and Regulatory Officer of any deviations that occur concerning established procedures and opportunities for improvements.

  • Assure that work areas are kept safe, organized and clean.

  • Responsible to ensure that all records and documentation related to any transactions (reception, product visual inspection, shipping, etc.) are accurate, retained and follow Good Documentation Practices.

  • Communicate with ICC, Regulatory Officer, Supervisor/Lead Hand, and/or Warehouse Manager to ensure that potentially compromised/damaged products are removed from inventory/modify to a relative product status in the system and placed in a secured quarantine area for assessment.

  • Ensure that at all time products are sent to and stored in the proper warehouse areas based on their temperature requirements as well as their other product attributes, based on SOP’s.

  • Ensure at all time that all operational transactions are completed and traceable within the warehouse management system, as per SOP’s.

  • Perform all tasks within the scope of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Specific Work Instructions related to the specific warehouse job function.

  • Lift, carry product and walk on concrete flooring for a full shift.

  • Use a laser scanning equipment to scan bar code and products for transactional accuracy, and full product traceability.

  • Operate power lifting equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

  • Use of the computer and walkie-talkie.

  • Other duties as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.

Section B – Specific Responsibilities for warehousing activities

Specific duties generally include, but are not limited to the following :

  • Receive and inspect inbound deliveries and report any discrepancies as explained in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and/or Specific Work Instructions.

  • Put Away, replenish and store products in proper warehouse areas based on product status and/or product attributes, and as per directed by the warehouse management system, following SOP’s and/or Specific Work Instructions.

  • Pick Customer Orders as instructed by the warehouse management system, following SOP’s and/or Specific Work Instructions.

  • Verify that all orders are accurate (right product, right lot number, right quantity) and pack orders according to instructions directed by the warehouse management system, following SOP’s and/or Specific Work Instructions.

  • Ship customer orders, and print all of the related documents (labels, ship memos, etc.) as per instructed by the warehouse management system, the transportation system (courier, others), followings SOP’s and/or Specific Work Instructions.

  • Ensure inventory accuracy by following the inventory cycle counting program as directed by the warehouse management system, following SOP’s and/or Specific Work Instructions

Section C – Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is an asset.

  • Clear CPIC (Canadian Police Information Center) check.

  • 1-2 years of experience using a forklift, reach truck, order picker, or other power industrial equipment would be an asset.

  • Experience in a distribution center/warehouse/manufacture environment is an asset.

  • Math and reading skills and a high standard for attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proven ability to be a team player and work in a team environment.

  • Strong focus on Quality and process compliance.

  • Strong focus of Customer Service and commitment to customer satisfaction.

  • Ability to challenge processes and seek out process improvements or creative ways of completing tasks.

  • Must be familiar and able to work with computers and automation.

  • Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds independently and greater weights in a team-lift environment.

  • Physical requirements include: lifting, carrying, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods of time.

  • Reliable and punctual and willing to work various shifts.

  • Exhibit flexibility/adaptability.
