The Workforce Scheduling Analyst is responsible for creating nursing and support staff schedules from draft through approval and communication to employees. The Workforce Scheduling Analyst is responsible for planning, staffing and scheduling personnel resources according to applicable policies, standards and contract requirements. This position ensure adequate coverage of all nursing and support positions at the local facility level and manages schedule/shift adjustments to optimize schedule adherence and provide overall staffing efficiencies. The Workforce Scheduling Analyst is responsible for the scheduling of nursing staff on multiple units/specialties and or facility and allocating staff accordingly on a shift by shift basis to accommodate unit, patient, and employee needs. * Responsible for collaborative interfacing with appropriate resources for the creation of daily labor allocation plans, communication of plans to unit and facility leadership and execution of plans at the unit level through the enforcement of the organization’s staffing model_ * Responsible for following contractual requirements specific to the unit/specialties and/or facility_ * Effectively utilizes Full-time, Part-time, PRN, and Contract Labor staff understanding the associated impact on costs, patient care, and employees * Creates, maintains & manages all labor schedules for all local facility departments * Receives leadership review and approval for posting * Ensures Staffing is at the appropriate budgeted level and schedule adjusted according to census. * Collaborates with other Department personnel * Minimizes avoidable premium pay (Overtime) through effective scheduling * Serves as liaison to Staff with respect to work schedules & collaborates with other Departments * Notifies Facility Leadership appropriately regarding call-outs and assists with securing coverage * Balances Facility’s staffing needs and the Staff schedule preferences * Responds to emergency situations and call-outs to ensure Facility coverage * Reviews and tracks requests for Vacation and Time-off. Coordinates scheduling to meet these needs * Prepares reports as requested and/or other duties as needed * Mastery of all Information Systems associated with staffing and labor management * Strong Communication skills as demonstrated by proactive communications with key customers and the ability to establish realistic expectations and communicate difficult decisions/information
- 3 to 5 years’ experience as Hospital Staffing Coordinator or Workforce Analytics Analyst, preferred, but will consider equivalent hospital/healthcare staffing experience__
- Experience with hospital scheduling preferred
- Previous experience must be applicable to applying organizational methodology of hospital labor allocation plans in order to develop and deliver forecasts that support productivity and financial efficiency
- Experience in Collective Bargaining environments a plus.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to readily master new software
- Basic computer hardware; printer, key board, copy/scanning equipment, telecommunication devices__
