Job Summary

AECOM’s Florida NEPA/Corridors Group is seeking a motivated and confident Entry Level Transportation Engineer or Planner to be part of the Orlando office staff. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Being an integral part of project and study teams focused on surface transportation (roadway, transit, bicycle and pedestrian) studies for clients such as Florida DOT, Federal Transit Administration, Federal Railroad Administration, MPOs, counties and cities

  • Tasks will include but will not be limited to:

  1. Project data collection

  2. Research and analysis

  3. Participation in project meetings with internal team and client

  4. Interaction with the public and project stakeholders (including federal and state agencies), development and/or review of project documents and general support of project team/tasks

Minimum Requirements

  • ​Bachelor’s in Engineering or in a planning related field of study (urban and regional, transportation, urban design, policy planning, etc.)

  • Applicant is expected to pursue and obtain PE or AICP within 3 years of hire.

  • Occasional travel to project sites and meeting locations will be required at times

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Knowledge of the transportation engineering or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), general planning theory/practice, and public involvement/outreach techniques

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required

  • Working knowledge of GIS and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Have strong written and oral communication skills

  • Must be confident with public speaking

  • Must be a self-starter

  • Must be willing to take on new challenges and operate outside of their comfort zone

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's in Engineering or in a planning related field of study (urban and regional, transportation, urban design, policy planning, etc.)
