CACI International GIS Specialist Lead/Analyst in Orlando, Florida
SE Core enables an interoperable Synthetic Environment for simulation and training programs. The SE Core Terrain & Model Generation Services (TMGS) focuses on delivering software and limited hardware to enable a common correlated Synthetic Environment for Warfighters to train for full spectrum operations. SE Core is to facilitate a common representation of the complex and uncertain world for Integrated Training Environment exercises to support focused unit training that approximates the changing contemporary operational environment. SE CORE is comprised of complementary efforts for developing the Synthetic Environment that facilitate fair fight interoperability for system and non-system TADSS. The program develops training terrain databases, models, and simulation architecture connectivity to meet Warfighter operational training requirements. The terrain and model development efforts provide non-proprietary, open format, and image generator independent Synthetic Environment deliverables. These efforts, linking current and future training devices/simulations, enable the Army to execute combined arms and joint training, as well as mission planning and rehearsals at home station and at deployed locations.
Under minimal supervision, performs complex geographic information systems (GIS) analyses on natural resources data.
Has strong knowledge and understanding of global positioning systems (GPS).
Lead a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Team
Design, develop, and implement systems and databases for storing and accessing geospatial and vector data.
Standardize and define metadata for geographic data, and track need for data format conversion.
Research and test new data sources, software, and organizational tools.
Create and implement standards for quality of geographic data.
Plans, designs, and develops complex documents, and analyzes spatial and relational databases.
Uses complex software to manage spatial and related tabular data. Builds complex databases by capturing map information with a coordinate digitizer.
Produces computer map products depicting contents of databases.
Writes complex software routines to facilitate analysis.
Locates sources of GIS data from
Government, state agencies, and private companies.
Operates computer workstations, digitizers, printers, and plotters.
Ability to create user applications and interfaces using various complex programming languages.
Analyze image data using complex image processing software.
Prepares and presents complex technical research. Recommends changes in procedures when necessary.
May develop department policies, guidelines, and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree. 8-10 years’ experience in Database Administration.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Familiar with the principles, practices, and procedures used in GIS, software and systems development.
Experience with GIS development tools and programming languages.
A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
Work experience at SE Core Program preferred.
