General Summary Description The Data Coordinator (aka Excel Guru) will provide technical support to the Claims and Benefits departments by gathering data directly from clients and/or carrier websites, cleaning/scrubbing data, and inputting that data into Excel tables to create loss analysis/trending reports for review by the Claims Manager or Client Executive prior to delivery to the client.
Duties /Responsibilities Collects claims data on self funded and large insured benefit clients
Pull worker’s compensation and property & casualty loss run data from carrier websites
Review descriptions of losses and/or claims to categorize each one appropriately
Inputs claims data into spreadsheet for delivery to internal team members for review
Verifies data by contacting carrier and/or client to collect missing information
Creates formulas and pivot tables using Excel’s advanced functionalities to put data in presentable format
Updates and manipulate multiple charts and graphs outlining various trends in data
Provides monthly/quarterly/annual client reporting functions and ad hoc report requests
Maintains client data reporting templates and oversees data filing needs
Creates management reports and financial reports as requested by Claims and/or Benefits department
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications Superior Proficiency with Microsoft Excel’s suite of tools and functionality Working knowledge of Outlook & Word Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and follow-up skills Intermediate math skills Good typing skills: 40-45 wpm Ability to solve technical problems by oneself with the use of the internet Ability to work well in a team environment Ability to coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously Strong time management and organizational skills
