Bank of America Application Development Lead / Manager in Pennington, New Jersey
Manages a function or unit within the technology environment. Manages application programmers and makes all decisions on personnel actions including staffing, performance management and compensation decision-making. Supports systems through maintenance, modification, problem resolution to support ongoing delivery of services and/or operations. Formulates/designs systems scope and objectives for the applications/development of a major project or multiple lesser projects. Responsible for instructing, directing, and checking the quality and timeliness of other systems professionals. Works on most difficult or complex systems. May provide expertise in determining the strategic technical direction and system architecture for initiatives. Provides training and technical assistance to more junior associates. Typically requires 5-7 years of applicable experience.
- Need a technology lead responsible for development and feature enhancements for the ongoing maintenance systems supporting Portfolio Management Systems. The Lead will need to manage a team of resources supporting multi-tier applications.
8+ years of experience in Information Technology
8+ years experience with mainframe based applications built with CICS, COBOL and JCL required
Responsible for new development using COBOL on IBM mainframe systems
Responsible for elaboration of user requirements, designing solutions, development and testing of COBOL code and related JCL
Help identify new system requirements for existing systems
Experience developing CICS and batch COBOL applications
Experience with TSO/ISPF, CICS, DB2 and JCL, MQ Series.
Relational Database Development experience ( DB2)
Proficient knowledge of COBOL and COBOL Batch and CICS online development, deployment and support practices
Proficient knowledge of TSO/ISPF, IBM JCL, CICS, DB2 store procedures, SQL queries
Understanding of system and unit testing methodologies and industry practices
Experience troubleshooting complex COBOL programs with components using DB2 databases, SQL queries, batch processing and CICS.
Problem-solving skills and ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high volume environment
Experience in Financial services industry.
Experience with mainframe based applications built with DB2, VSAM, and MQ Series preferred.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent relevant experience in mainframe programming
