Description : The Investment Solutions Group (ISG) Chief Operating Officer s erves as a key strategic and tactical partner to ISG Executive and provides broad business management for the function. Accountable for performing, managing and leading COO type functions and initiatives including; strategy business management, reporting/analytics, infrastructure and controls, and project/initiative management. Ensures appropriate governance and management routines. Facilitates the development of business strategy, in coordination with the leadership team and senior support partners. Requires a deep understanding of business unit products, services and processes , and excellent analytical abilities.Series 7, 24, and 66 or 63 and 65 (or ability to obtain) are required
Areas of Responsibility:
Strategy and Execution of Business Initiatives
•Business management of investment advisory growth, managing the operational dynamics and implications of the accelerated impact of fiduciary responsibilities and accountabilities on the MLWM advisory organization •Cross channel coordination and business development•Management andexecution ofstrategic initiatives from idea creation through execution & implementation
Business Management, Planning & Analytics
•Managealloperational support for business unit, includingstrategy, measurement, and reporting•Revenue growth and expense management oversight•Partner across GWIM to identify opportunities to create synergies, efficiently leverage resources, and improve client experience•Identify key opportunities to improve operating and service model, including in-depth analysis and strategic recommendations•Owns and coordinates key governance and managementroutineswith leaders, partners and clients
Governance & Controls
•Ensureenforcement of strong risk and governance management (riskrelated processes)while balancing business strategy.•Proactively manage relationships with regulatory agencies, external consultants and other internal risk management groups.•Manage and address ad-hoc requests and issues relating to Legal, Compliance, Risk & Audit inquiries
•Establish SIM and Organization Health controls, including inspection routines and management of span of control and layers within targeted thresholds; lead SIM and Org Health routines, deliverables, and communication•Headcount planning and management; ensure staffing levels align with business gearing ratios, business needs and requirements, and enterprise initiatives•Demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion and employee development•Ensure Employee Engagement efforts are active and relevant•Ensure timely LOB participation in HR/LD process routines (goal setting, talent planning, performance management, etc.)
•Demonstrated leadership proficiency in people, risk, financial and product management•Strategic, logical and creative thinker with an ability to define strategy, set clear objectives, translate into pragmatic tactics that drive results•Ability to lead through collaboration•Experience/knowledge of Financial Advisory team, with ability to assess impact of strategic initiative/changes to the organization•Excellent analytical skills and financial acumen with ability to identify trends, understand cause and effect•Demonstrated industry knowledge, e.g., clients, competitors, products, economics, regulations, policies, etc.•Experience/knowledge of Financial Advisory and Fiduciary teams, with ability to assess impact of strategic initiative/changes to the organization•Well developed business judgment and experience•Can recruit, grow, and retain talent; assembles strong team; provides stretch opportunities and mentorship/coaching•Series 7, 24, and 66 or 63 and 65 (or ability to obtain) are required.
