Job Description:

The Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Finance team is part of the GWIM Finance organization. The primary focus of our team is to support Financial Planning & Analysis including regular reporting routines for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Key activities/priorities include annual planning, forecasting, and analysis of monthly financial results.

The teammate in this role will serve as the primary contact for monthly reporting and assist in the forecasting, annual planning as well as explaining progress towards goals. A strong focus on partnering with central GWIM FP&A team and other business finance partners is required. As part of the responsibilities of this role, the teammate will facilitate plan and forecast uploads including reconciliation and be required to explain variances of actual results toward each as well as vs. prior periods. Throughout the role, the teammate will develop strong partnering skills and taking an analysis from conception to presentation.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree (accounting or finance strongly preferred)

  • 5+ years of accounting or financial analysis work experience

  • Strong communication, organization, presentation, analytical and leadership skills

  • Analytical Abilities / Financial Acumen - Systematic application of a combination of inductive and deductive reasoning to examine information, interpret results and arrive at well-founded logical conclusions.

  • Understanding of accounting (debits / credits)

  • Builds Partnerships - Builds broad-based business relationships across the organization. Skillfully influences peers and colleagues to promote and sell ideas.

  • Advanced excel skills

  • Strong businessacumen

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Business Mastery – attention to detail, comfortable functioning in a highly dynamic, ever changing environment, always meets/beats deadlines, manages multiple responsibilities simultaneously

Desired Skills

  • Financial planning, analysis and reporting experience

  • GWIM product knowledge

  • Ability to prepare power point presentations

  • Knowledge of eledger is a plus

  • Initiative – demonstrates the ability to be a self-starter and go beyond what is asked.
