This position is responsible for maintaining and growing the Linux platform at AmeriHealth Caritas. Tasks will include designing, maintaining and supporting /Linux operating systems, primarily RedHat Enterprise Linux. Operating systems may be physical, cloud-based, or virtualized. Support of the associated hosting environment is also required.

This position will act as a primary solution and support specialist for internal projects, PMO projects, daily activities, maintenance projects, production support and technical documentation. Activities will include, but not be limited to: performing server software, firmware, and hardware installations and upgrades, server performance monitoring and tuning, logical and physical hardware design, storage management, capacity planning, backup strategies and disaster recovery strategies and design.

Support for Apache and other Linux based solutions will be required.

24x7 On call shifts are required, and rotated amongst the Linux team members.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree required or equivalent work experience
  • Five to ten years experience in the below Business Critical Technologies:
  • Linux Operating Systems, HP Hardware, EMC Storage, backup solutions, high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Other Skills:

  • RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL6 & 7)

  • VMware ESXi management (5.5)
  • IS project management.
