Deloitte Consulting's Project Controller Practice is comprised of client service professionals specializing in account and engagement economics, risk mitigation, profitability optimization and compliance services throughout the full project lifecycle, from the pursuit phase through project closeout. Project Controllers support client engagement team(s) by assisting with initiating and controlling financial and organizational aspects of projects. Their greatest value is in the understanding and application of engagement business and financial processes both to individual projects and to client accounts.

We are looking for highly knowledgeable, finance-savvy students with an exceptional eye for detail to join ourProject Controller Analyst program. Our talented project controllers work directly with the organization s senior leadership in a business advisor role and manage project initiation, execution, and project closure. During each of these project lifecycle stages our Analysts perform financial planning and analysis and present levers affecting project profitability to senior leadership. Work you ll do

As aProject Controller Analyst, you will assist project leadership in managing revenue and margins by emphasizing cost of delivery that affects overall engagement profitability. You will maintain compliance with clients policies, perform internal financial analysis including budgeting, forecasting, and cost variance analysis, and help manage projects billing and receivables process. You will also monitor project performance and determine improvement areas by developing key performance indicators and frequently communicate with the project team, finance department, and other project stakeholders to keep projects on track and within the scope of cost. You will team and collaborate with other controllers across the practice, including our practitioners in India.

The team

Our project controller practice helps client define what they need and how it can be delivered. We work with senior leadership to define their projects scope in as much detail as possible. Using advanced financial, budgeting, and forecasting techniques we provide realistic cost estimates that account for projects phases, people, materials, hardware, and software. We produce the best- and worst-case estimates using leading-edge project and client management software to help keep clients projects on track and on budget. We manage risk by performing financial analysis and reconciliations to keep project variances in check. You will work in a team composed of management, senior and junior staff, along with team members in India. This team dynamic provides unique perspectives that will enable you to give the most effective recommendations to Deloitte project management.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor s or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, or a related area

  • Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.2)

  • Graduating college Senior or academic equivalent

  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting and finance principles

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team

  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to "think outside the box" while identifying problems and developing creative solutions

  • Willingness to travel

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a financial analysis role;

  • Experience with MS Access and MS Project applications
