Job Description

This role is for a Application developer to design, develop, maintain and test Data warehouse applications collaborating with the development team, testing team and business partners to ensure successful delivery and implementation of application Requirements.Should have hands on experience in designing, developing and implementing ETL projects for data warehouses.

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following, and these will be evolving based on businerss needs:

  • Demonstrates strong expertise in datawarehouse concepts, practices, and procedures related to ETL design and development.

  • Develop technical strategies and architectures for high-performance, scalable and complex enterprise-grade system.

  • Work with ETL developers, business analyst, DBAs, system administrators, data modelling teams for ETL build and design.

  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements.

  • Understanding of Data Quality methodologies and data governance to ensure standardization of data is maintained.

  • Contribute to the requirements elicitation process, create application architecture documents.

  • Design, Develop and Test ETL Mappings, Mapplets, Workflows, Worklets using Informatica Powercenter 9.x.

  • Performance tuning of end-to-end ETL integration processes.

  • Determine optimal approach for obtaining data from diverse source systems.

  • Be a key contributor to initiatives that require technical expertise.

  • Work closely with the team responsible for the maintaining the data model, including data dictionary/metadata registry.

  • Possess expertise in Project Migration and release co-ordination activities

  • Interface with Various Business stakeholders to understand the requirement and offer solutions.

  • Collaborate with the team to coordinate delivery of software application..

  • Strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Work in a fast paced environment, under minimal supervision providing technical guidance to the team members.

  • Need to work with both the Charlotte/New York/New Jersey as well as India teams. This will mean attending meetings during timings enabling the global teams to meet.

Required Skills

  • An overall 7+ years industry experience in Data Warehouse/Data Mart/Business intelligence delivery.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of Informatica Power Center 9.x or above.

  • Strong Exposure of working with web service sources/Targets, XML Sources and webservices.

  • Minimum of 3+ years of Linux / shell scripting complementary with Informatica.

  • Minimum of 2+ years experience in job scheduling using AutoSys.

  • Minimum of 3+ years in Informatica performance tuning.

  • Minimum of 2+ Years in Code Migration activities.

  • Strong Exposure to Relation databases Netezza, Oracle & SQL Server including complex SQL constructs and DDL generation.

  • Hands on Informatica Components(Designer, Monitor, Repository Manager& Workflow Manager) using Informatica Powercenter 9.x.

  • Experience in Creating Low level and High level Design Artifacts.

  • Proven experience in designing and building integrations supporting standard data warehousing data models star schema, snow flake and different Normalization Forms.

  • Ability to present technical concepts to senior level business stakeholders.

  • Ability to provide end to end technical guidance on the software development life cycle (requirements through implementation).

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Impeccable Communication skills – verbal and written.

  • Should be a self motivated worker.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude, team-player .

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changes.

  • Strong Data analysis skills.

  • Complex Data Architecture / Data lineage methodologies.

  • Experience in working in a global technology development model.

  • Effectively deal with multiple deadline-driven, customer-sensitive projects and tasks.

  • Strong time management and task prioritization.

Desired Skills

  • Exposure to Data modeling for data warehouses.

  • Knowledge on Fundamentals/concepts of Banking Domain.

May have responsibility for a project and project budget. May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants. Typically requires 5-7 years of experience.
