Job Description:

The overview of this position (based in Plano, TX) includes:

  • Develops, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests software applications that support business units or supporting functions. These application program solutions may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools.

  • Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies.

  • Technology professional with experience in designing and managing the implementation of future looking, flexible and reusable, enterprise applications and components.

  • Expert in translating business requirements into an application design that includes Data Model, Web Screens, Web Services, and batch processing.

  • Expert problem solver and able to effectively communicate with business, technical persons, and senior management.

  • Need to know how to take business requirements, and design the solution. The starting point, and most important part of the design, is the Data Model. Need to know how to efficiently organize data in a database.

  • May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives.

  • Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource.

Job Requirement (Must* have skills to be minimally qualified)*

•Java midrange development experience. Prefer 7+years or more of hands-on relevant programming experience

•Strong Java, midrange development skills(JAVA, J2EE, STRUTS, SPRINGS,WebSphere, webservices, Eclipse, RAD, JRule/ODM, UI screens, etc.)

•Excellent debugging skills

•Good understanding of third party dependency management and transitive dependency issues

•Strong knowledge on databases

•Understanding of the software development life cycle

•Experience with Implementation and release management activities

•Good understanding of unit/system and functional testing methodology

•Experience working in large transaction based systems

•Experience writing technical designs

•Experience documenting technical functions

Desired Skills:

• Bachelors’ degree in Computer or Equivalent professional experience

• DB2/ZOS or Oracle 11g•Preferred banking domain knowledge

•Strong Communication and good leadership skills

•Ability to work under minimal supervision

•Ability to foster strong collaboration among team members and multitask effectively

•Deliver reproducible builds with a design emphasis on reusability, maintainability and efficiency.

•Write the build code and configuration files necessary to meet this goal.

•Investigate and recommend best practices and improvements for the build system.

•Monitor build emails and direct to the appropriate developer for problem resolution.

•REST/JSON web service experience

•Have a strong ability and interest in working with a diverse range of technical and non-technical teams.

•Detail orientation and ability to debug complex errors.

•Strong proclivity to follow coding standards and execute a best practices approach in build processes.
