Job Description

Production Services Manager responsible for Level 2 production support, point of escalation for Level 1, triage and issue resolution along with creating, managing and ensuring adherence to application governance requirements

  • Responsible for application management by coordinating and collaborating with cross internal teams, LOBs, Vendor Managers and Vendors.

  • Need to have an understanding of internal process and function as an approver and coordinator and can contribute to implement standard processes and routines if necessary.

  • Establish best practices for support methodology and processes including maintenance and support roadmaps, processes and technical documentation. Ability to ensure standard processes and procedures are adhered to and improve existing processes with ability to identify, prioritize, resolve and/or escalate issues.

  • Responsible for the monitoring and performance of production applications to ensure that internal and external teams work together to resolve any impacts to customers.

  • Effectively trains application support staff in performance of their duties and provide technical support and guidance to other team members as required.

  • Manage resources, capacity, and work collaboratively with development & testing teams to define solutions for complex production issues. Should be able to manage workloads, assign right priorities and deliver on time.

  • Communicate with customers on technical and non-technical matters and perform continuous process improvement to all support and maintenance activities.

  • Need to have deep understanding of compliance and Information security Policy and Standards.

  • Should have deep understanding of HR, Finance and Control functions processes and able to translate complex technical topics into understandable concepts for business users.

  • Technical understanding of database applications and ETL tools and should provide technical guidance to team members.     

Required Skills

  • 10+ years managing and leading complex HR, Finance projects and/or leading support teams, preferably as an application support manager or similar type role

  • Strong leadership skills in managing multiple technical and functional teams

  • Technical understanding of JAVA, .Net platforms and frameworks knowledge and should provide technical guidance to team members

  • Excellent Soft Skills (Communication – via email, phone, live-meeting etc.)

  • MS Office (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, & Word), VBA experience

Desired Skills

  • Visio, Gantt chart, and SharePoint experience

  • Speaking / presentation skills in a professional setting

  • Experience working on Finance – Banking domain projects. Ability to understand Finance terminologies

Enterprise Role Overview

Production Services is responsible for running the day to day operations of the technology platform. Work activities specific to Production Services roles include Problem/Incident Management, Release/Deployment, Operational Readiness, Capacity/Availability Management, Application Monitoring, Service Analytics and Reporting, Production Governance, Triage, Associate Support, Change/Configuration Management, etc. The Production Services Manager translates business strategy into work programs and processes. Directs lower-level managers or team leaders or directly manages a specialty function. Initiates and provides leadership, strategic/tactical direction and planning input on all information technology and client/business area issues and in the development of an technology environment which meets current and anticipated business requirements and objectives. Participates with management in the development of technology products, service standards and development efforts that impact the client/business area. Serves as an escalation point between the client/business area and internal management for the resolution of moderately complex unresolved problems, complaints and service requests. Provides the client areas with technology products and service alternatives that improve the production services environment. Employees in this job code must manage people.
