SSPM Global Risk and Corporate Investments and Treasury technology:
Shared Services Production Management(SSPM) Global Risk Technology(GRT) and Corporate Investments and Treasury Technology(CITT) provides production management solutions to Global Risk, Corporate Investments, and Corporate Treasury Development and Business partners to ensure daily delivery of technology functions that serve those business lines
The role is for a Technical Production Support Manager supporting applications in the Risk and Capital Line of Businesses
The role will be to manage production support teams that providing Level 2 support and Release & Change Management for the Global risk applications as well as serve as a point of contact/owner of support for these applications during central time zone. The role would currently involve supporting the Multiple LOBs/AITs across Enterprise Credit Risk and Global Market Risk portfolios in GRT space. Enterprise Wholesale credit risk, Enterprise retail credit risk, Counterparty Credit risk, Market risk, Liquidity risk Suite of applications in Global Risk Investments and Treasury technology .
The ideal candidate should be technically astute, well organized, pro-active and be comfortable discussing issues with business and technical users at all levels. The candidate must have a strong IT background in Hadoop, Python, Informatica, RDBMS, JAVA and Unix. A strong focus on communication and technical skills, system stability, assessing user expectations, and problem management which includes issue documentation, root cause analysis and trending analysis is needed for this role. In carrying out the duties, associate needs to follow the bank’s production processes and guidelines, document technical details both for the benefit of team knowledge sharing and for global team
Manage multiple production support teams.
Identify ways to increase efficiency and improve effectiveness of work performed and resources utilized to drive continuous improvement
Single point of contact during central time zone for the Applications for any day-to-day production support concerns.
Excellent team building, interpersonal and communications skills with ability to negotiate, listen, motivate, demonstrate diplomacy, give and receive feedback, and interact effectively with senior management and internal teams
Ability to delve deep into the code structure to understand complex algorithms and troubleshoot system/data problems
Ability to effectively influence peers and others to achieve objectives
Provide technical oversight across systems and applications; leverage skills across team and department
Demonstrate drive and initiative; be goal-oriented, dedicated and self-sufficient
Partner with development and other technology teams to develop strategy regarding overall architecture and infrastructure, identifies and defines necessary system enhancements; analyzes existing system logic, identifies problems; and recommends and implements solutions
Be able to work well under pressure, adapt quickly to changing priorities and maintain focus on key tasks during busy periods
Responsible for system availability / stability within the production environment to agreed business levels
Communicate e regular status updates and metrics to both Senior Business and IT managers
Communicate complex technical issues to business users in a language they understand
Oversee and prioritize e issues based on criticality
Provide effective client communication during regular updates or escalate when appropriate
Provide support for the applications outside normal hours including weekends where needed to address production issues or new releases to the application
Plan for and execute annual Business continuity (BCP) tests
Ensure production support documentation is kept up to date.
In-depth expertise and troubleshooting on specific platforms or applications
Implementation and release planning, coordination with Change Management and L2 for execution
System and application performance analysis, co-ordination, and remediation
Identify automation for repetitive activities and proposal for performance improvement, if any
Participate in and execute emergency changes to bring an application back to production
Assure adherence to all support process and tool standards and work with Functional managers to create new and/or enhance processes to ensure consistency and “best practices” across the program
Drive continued cost reductions and efficiencies across the portfolios supported by means of Root Cause Analysis reviews, Knowledge management, Performance tuning, and user training.
10+ years managing a Production support team
5+years working with Hadoop/Netezza/DB2/SQL Server.
5+ years’ experience with Unix shell scripting and Autosys.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of ITIL
Ability to think out of box and provide innovative solutions
Ability to work independently and take up E2E ownership of tasks
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Enterprise Role Overview
Production Services is responsible for running the day to day operations of the technology platform. Work activities specific to Production Services roles include Problem/Incident Management, Release/Deployment, Operational Readiness, Capacity/Availability Management, Application Monitoring, Service Analytics and Reporting, Production Governance, Triage, Associate Support, Change/Configuration Management, etc. The Production Services Manager translates business strategy into work programs and processes. Directs lower-level managers or team leaders or directly manages a specialty function. Initiates and provides leadership, strategic/tactical direction and planning input on all information technology and client/business area issues and in the development of an technology environment which meets current and anticipated business requirements and objectives. Participates with management in the development of technology products, service standards and development efforts that impact the client/business area. Serves as an escalation point between the client/business area and internal management for the resolution of moderately complex unresolved problems, complaints and service requests.
