Bank of America Production Services Manager/Sr Teradata Enterprise Architect in Plano, Texas

Manages multiple functions or units within the technology environment (Teradata & Hadoop).
Manages application programmers & Architects and makes all decisions on personnel actions including staffing, performance management and compensation decision-making.
Supports systems through maintenance, modification, problem resolution to support ongoing delivery of services and/or operations.
Formulates/designs systems scope and objectives for the applications/development of a major project or multiple lesser projects.
Responsible for instructing, directing, and checking the quality and timeliness of other systems professionals.
Works on most difficult or complex systems. Provide expertise in determining the strategic technical direction and system architecture for initiatives.
Provides training and technical assistance to Team members.
Provides Technical and Domain subject matter expertise for on boarding Applications from other Teradata platforms and other RDBMS systems on to EDM Teradata Platforms and Act as Data warehousing Consultant and Data Analyst of the Banking Datawarehousing Applications.
Provides Data Lineage capabilities for Datawarehousing applications for DR,Audit and Regulatory Reporting.
Provides Data Analytical Capabilities to develop strategic plans. Perform Teradata Catalog Analysis by running queries on PDCR/DBC tables and create reports to clients as per their requirements.
Participate in the design, development and implementation of Teradata architectural deliverables, to include components of the assessment and optimization of system design and review of user requirements.
Conduct impact assessment and determine size of effort based on requirements. Contribute to the determination of technical and operational feasibility of solutions.Understand the functional requirements for complex data warehouse rollouts and transform them into technical requirements.
Act as ETL Lead and work with the Teams across the Geographies to get the deliverables done.
Develop prototypes of the system design and work with database, operations, technical support and other IT areas as appropriate throughout development and implementation processes.Coordinate multiple projects with competing deadlines.
Perform architecture reviews of Teradata, Mainframes & Hadoop Applications to ensure proper Design and optimized code is being deployed in production.
Exploring the New Teradata Features and setting up Teradata Standards and Benchmark and publishing to Developers.Support Teradata software upgrade installations and new feature testing and adoption and participate in Platform upgrades and Load recovery.
Review and provide code remediation for inefficient SQL code identified by Teradata Operations and the DBA Group for Production code and end user SQL Queries
Identify and drive process and system improvements to enhance efficiency. Reduce the total cost of application by improving the efficiency
Working on Hadoop development utilizing Cloudera Hadoop,SyncSort DMX-H, Subversion, Impala, Hive, Flume, Sqoop, Oozie,Kerberos/Active Directory/LDAP,Autosys etc.
4 Year Degree Computer Science/Software Engineering or related degree program, or equivalent application development, implementation and operations experience
7+ years experience applying Technical SQL expertise in writing and teaching efficient use of Teradata SQL and using and analyzing Performance Statistics from the Teradata PDCR/DBC Database
Atleast 3 Years Development experience in Mainframes and Unix.
Atleast 3 Years Experience on Autosys & CA7 Scheduling.
Atleast 3 Years Management experience. Strong leadership presence. Can-do attitude. Positive and proactive leadership style
Experience with optimal database design and SQL coding and understanding of ETL
Experience with Release 15 or newer of the Teradata
Experience with Utilities and DBA and Developer tools available for the Teradata System.
Support Teradata software upgrade installations and new feature testing and adoption & Benchmarking on new technologies or features
Proven Understanding of Cloudera Hadoop and Apache ecosystem namely YARN, Impala, Hive, Flume, Sqoop, Oozie,Kerberos/Active Directory/LDAP, etc.
Database development experience, including Data Architect experience working with ‘Big Data’ technologies such as Hadoop, ETL tools, and large datasets
Experience and detailed knowledge of Hadoop development utilizing SyncSort DMX-H, Subversion, SQL Knowledge or equivalent technologies
Strong knowledge in Banking and Financial domain and performed Data analyst/Subject Matter Expert role in various Data warehousing Projects.
Excellent communication skills, particularly those relating to complex findings and presenting them to ensure audience appeal at various levels of the organization
Ability to coordinate activities related to special initiatives or operations
Mentoring of team members
Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Extremely knowledgeable of industry standards and trends

Enterprise Role Overview
Production Services is responsible for running the day to day operations of the technology platform. Work activities specific to Production Services roles include Problem/Incident Management, Release/Deployment, Operational Readiness, Capacity/Availability Management, Application Monitoring, Service Analytics and Reporting, Production Governance, Triage, Associate Support, Change/Configuration Management, etc. The Production Services Manager translates business strategy into work programs and processes. Directs lower-level managers or team leaders or directly manages a specialty function. Initiates and provides leadership, strategic/tactical direction and planning input on all information technology and client/business area issues and in the development of an technology environment which meets current and anticipated business requirements and objectives. Participates with management in the development of technology products, service standards and development efforts that impact the client/business area. Serves as an escalation point between the client/business area and internal management for the resolution of moderately complex unresolved problems, complaints and service requests.
