Department Overview: The Infrastructure Management Group (IMG) - Compute Services (CS) organization provides a diverse set of infrastructure services including but not limited to mainframe systems, cloud operations, online storage and backups. The CS organization also maintains critical relationships with managed service providers such as IBM (Kaiser Permanente has outsourced the management of the server and storage operations in its data centers to IBM). CS plays a critical role in shifting KP's operational focus toward compute and cloud service delivery by individual platform. Its success is foundational to that of IMG because it supports the critical transformation into the 'as-a-service' delivery model and marks a change from the traditional delivery of services.
Managed Services is the organization within Compute Services which is responsible for the business, financial and overall governance of the IBM services. Within Managed Services, the Transformation Programs team drives programs and projects to remediate risks, take advantage of opportunities to improve performance and reduce costs in KP-s data centers.
Project Summary: - Analysis and business case preparation for As-a-Service negotiations - Analysis and process improvement to support Transformation programs - Infrastructure Remediation and Transformation (IRT) - Backup Recovery and Archive (BURA) Remediation: The goal of this project is to identify gaps in Kaiser Permanente-s backup, recovery and archive environments, determine the root causes, drive remediation, and work with the owners of processes, technologies and tools to ensure that permanent fixes are implemented - IRT Backup As-a-Service (BaaS): Implement BaaS solution at Kaiser Permanente-s regional/remote sites
Essential Functions: - Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective. - Report development and analytics. - Project management - planning, execution, and measurement. - Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives. - Job shadowing in other functional areas. - Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Experience - N/A Education - High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. - Pursuing a bachelor's degree or have graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university within the last year. License, Certification, Registration - N/A
Additional Requirements: - Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions - Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills - Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
