Bank of America SAG Financial Analyst in Providence, Rhode Island
The Special Assets Group (SAG) manages the high risk/criticized or distressed commercial loan portfolio for the Business Banking and Small Business segments of Bank of America.
SAG Financial Analysts - Analyze financial information of bank's commercial customers. Participate in the underwriting and structuring of credit facilities designed to meet both clients’ needs and the bank's internal risk/return requirements. Research, write and present financial and industry analyses in support of company specific and portfolio level decisions.
Strong accounting skills
Understanding of commercial lending is a must
Background in commercial financial analysis and underwriting
Highly motivated individuals with the ability to manage multiple tasks while utilizing critical thinking skills
Strong written and verbal skills are needed
Word and Excel skills are mandatory
Spreading financial statements
Monitoring and analysis of borrowing bases
Monitoring covenant compliance
Preparing risk rating scorecards
Preparing term sheets
Clearing risk exceptions
Assisting in the preparation of approval documents and SERs
Completing research including research to support litigation
Contacting clients for information, overdrafts, past dues
Assisting with OCC reporting
Producing accurate loan forecasts
Ad hoc projects asneeded
Required skills and experience :
BS or BA in finance, accounting, economics or management
Proficient in using financial spreading tools (i.e. MFA)
Preparing a financial analysis including in depth analysis of repayment capacity
Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 1-2 years commercial underwriting experience
