Under the direction of the Manager, OD, Change and Training, the Junior Advisor, Talent Management and Development’s primary focus is to provide leaders with the tools and training needed to achieve organizational objectives and continuously improve performance and employee engagement. The incumbent is in charge of planning, organizing, facilitating and managing activities related to cultivating talent, allowing for opportunities for growth and development within the organization.
More specifically, the incumbent will design, develop and deploy tools for learning, including blended-learning solutions (social technologies, web-based and classroom training,) that support McKesson Canada strategic initiatives. The person will be conducting needs analyses, working with subject matter experts and/or 3rd party vendors to develop curriculums, and creating specific courseware to address key objectives. He/she must ensure that all programs are aligned with the McKesson Canada Strategy and the People Strategy.
Contributes to identifying, planning and coordinating the deployment of national Talent Management & Development initiatives, including the development of tools and support materials.
Provides leadership and acts as the company’s primary resource with regards to our Learning Management System (LMS) system.
Enhances and ensures coordination of our Leadership Development programs (Accelerated leadership, Leadership Essentials, etc.).
Defines training timelines, schedules and execution strategies for our in-class training offering as well as other corporate trainings.
Conducts research and analysis of statistical data and prepares a variety of reports to track effectiveness of learning initiatives and to identify areas of concern.
Performs needs analysis to identify key development objectives and skill gaps and determines learning strategies/solutions for development using a blended-learning approach (classroom, e-leaning and social learning).
Assists in defining messaging and communications to ensure the deployment of Talent & Development initiatives
Supports the deployment of major Talent and development initiatives (e.g. Employee Engagement survey, Talent Review process, etc.)
Ensures McKesson’s compliance with the employment equity standards, AODA and other relevant legislations.
Ensures coordination of Educational Assistance Policy.
Supports the development of tools related to Talent Management and Development (onboarding, etc.)
Contributes to the enhancement of our McKesson Culture, including our philosophy on Talent, Diversity & Inclusion and our ILEAD leadership model and our ICARE values. Integrates these components in all Talent initiatives.
Continually analyzes the current environment and emerging knowledge needs to provide informed recommendations on tools or process changes that will positively affect the company, internal teams, and ultimately customers.
Establishes positive relationships internally and externally, particularly with internal leaders, HR Business Partners, and team members; interact autonomously with external contactors.
Ensures compliance with and adherence to company policies and procedures.
University degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, Education or a related field
3-5 years of experience managing Human Resources programs, OD programs and or training activities
Familiarity and experience with LMS (Cornerstone or any other training management systems)
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel) and LMS systems
Proficient with Articulate/Storyline, Captivate, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Good written and oral communication skills (bilingualism is mandatory)
Autonomous, proven organizational skills and ability to take initiative
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Ability to work as part of a team
Project management experience preferred
