Thermo Fisher Scientific Director, PPI in Remote / Field, California
The role will facilitate the Learning and Development (L&D) programs for the PPI Business System. The position leads a team of PPI/CI experts who are responsible for further developing and evolving the overall PPI model, along with the L&D courses and mechanisms for all leadership levels, PPI professionals and the general population. The role will create, enhance and optimize all development and training materials and processes, including incorporating adult-based learning approaches, streamlining the existing programs for maximum business impact and personal development and working with the expanded team on the rollout and communications strategy. It also involves coaching/training/facilitating teams at all levels of the organization from executives to associates in PPI Business System elements including Strategy Deployment, A3 Thinking, Value Stream Management, Lean Leadership and Management Systems, visual management, problem solving and a range of other lean tools.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Evolve further the PPI Business System, including enhancing existing elements, establishing new tools and processes, etc.
Development of leaders, PPI professionals and the general population relative to the PPI Business System.
Create, enhance, and optimize all Learning and Development tools and processes as it relates to the PPI Business System.
Work with the expanded team to develop/promote/standardize the PPI Business System further.
Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements
Advanced lean practitioner with a 5+ years experience with PPI Business Systems, or comparable prior experience working in the Toyota Production System (TPS), Danaher Business System (DBS), Honeywell Operating System (HOS) or other recognized Lean business system models.
A ‘hands-on’ track record of implementing and developing teams in CI elements such as:
Lean Leadership (Daily Management, Leader Standard Work, and Gemba Walks)
Strategy Deployment and Value-stream mapping
Kaizen events including elements such as standard work, cell design, process and product 3P, Value-Analysis/Value Engineering, error-proofing, material flow, heijunka, and kanban.
A holistic thinker who is effective in influencing leaders to develop transformational target states and rapidly drive change through the full organization.
Experience and background in adult-learning techniques is a plus.
Bachelors’ degree in engineering, science, operations or business.
Advanced degree a plus
