Job Description

Position Summary:

The Technical Training Manager is responsible for overseeing the creation, implementation, and delivery of global training and certification solutions for technical service personnel within Unity Lab Services. The role will focus on implementing effective training, mentoring and certification processes with strong collaboration and partnership with product support engineering, service product support, technical support and other subject matter experts in the business to execute on these responsibilities. This position will oversee the establishment of a certification database driving reporting capabilities and intelligent dispatching of field service personnel. The Technical Training Manager will provide key support for timely, effective and quality training to service leaders across the business, driving a standard of highly supported, and fully competent service professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the strategies of global training, mentoring & certification processes, providing input for developing, documenting, implementing, measuring and communicating a global training, mentoring and certification standard

  • Establish programs to effectively satisfy customer and partner expectations of training and modify procedures or training based on trends or issues identified

  • Establish and maintain collaborative lines of communication with product support engineering, service product support, technical support, product management and other functions to partner on training, mentoring and certification objectives

  • Partner with service leaders to ensure effective, efficient and impactful execution of learning & development solutions for their respective teams

  • Collaborate with service leaders to develop and administrator FSE certification programs.

  • Manage a team of training coordinators to effectively schedule classes and trainers to ensure maximum efficiency of training resources.

  • Ensure that all required employee training, mentoring, certification and re-certification is communicated, launched, and passing scores are met.

  • Develop and oversee a strong mentoring program and process with defined standards

  • Ensure the success of all learning initiatives implementing a multi-level course and mentoring evaluation plan in order to determine effectiveness of training

  • Operate in a highly complex, highly matrix-ed business environment integrating business goals within Unity Lab Services Training programs

  • Research industry trends, concepts, and techniques for delivering high quality learning experiences to diverse audiences; Facilitates learning programs to audiences globally within ULS

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of learning and development or service experience

  • Consultative approach and high level of confidence in influence others towards a common goal

  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact with various levels within the organization

  • Solid internal and external customer service focus

  • Possess a detailed understanding of training & certification process elements with the ability to convey importance to a diverse audience who may have cultural differences.

  • Experience with Windows; strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.

  • Ability to travel overnight up to 30%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field.

  • Global experience strongly preferred

  • CPLP certification is a plus (Certified Professional in Learning and Performance)

Location:

This position will be based remotely, with overnight travel required up to 30%.
