Senior Learning Designer
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct analysis and make strategic recommendations related to learning needs. Lead or contribute to development of short- and long-term organizational strategies and initiatives. Recommend learning strategies and approaches for assigned projects; determine a preliminary level of effort required for each recommendation. Recommend strategies and approaches for curricula and/or complex, multi-faceted projects. Lead development of organizational strategies and initiatives. Develops a project plan, project schedule, and milestone dates. Manage work through the project lifecycle. Typically takes on project manager role or co-leads a project. Design and develop learning solutions aligned with business and learner needs. Deliver leading-edge solutions. May partner with peers and/or directors to explore and recommend new technologies, support technology upgrades, and participate in development of standards related to technologies. Design and recommend measurement tools for specific solutions and for broader use across our organization. May participate in development of organizational measurement practices and tools. Monitor feedback, evaluate impact and effectiveness of solutions, and communicate results and recommendations to business partners. Right size and reduce resource requirements without impacting quality or effectiveness. May lead efforts to improve cost-effectiveness, increase capacity, or improve practices.

Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies:
Ability to develop a general scope of work and, with support, estimate work effort required for a project of low complexity. Competency as a SharePoint user and contributor. May have strong developer competency. Experience designing solutions using virtual tools such as Lync and Skype for Business. Experience designing/developing mobile learning solutions.
Under general direction, designs and develops learning solutions and resources used by our Claim professionals. Position may focus on design or on development depending on organization needs. This job leads teams and does not directly manage others.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:
Masters or Bachelors and five years of experience in instructional design/technologies, adult learning, or related field. Experience applying adult learning and design theories to design/develop engaging, effective learning resources in a wide variety of formats. Proficiency in MSOffice products experience with at 3 - 5 additional technology tools such as SharePoint, Camtasia, PhotoShop, html coding, etc. Experience incorporating multimedia elements (audio, video, and graphics) into blended learning solutions. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to self-review and meet rigorous quality standards. Experience leading projects and familiarity with project management tools and techniques. Leadership or management experience. Demonstrated focus on continuous self-learning and exploring new trends, strategies, and practices in the talent development field. Experience building, maintaining, and repairing work relationships. Experience building and motivating cohesive teams.

Bachelors or Masters in instructional design, learning and development, learning technologies, or comparable field and five years of experience in instructional design/technologies, adult learning, or related field.
